Get ready to chill with this caffeinated cocktail! I’m sure you’ve heard of espresso martinis in the past. They’ve been all the rage since the 80s. As a matter of fact, the espresso martini was created in 1983 by Dick Bradsell at the Soho Brasserie in London. A customer asked for a drink that would “wake her up, and then **** her up” and well, the espresso martini was born. Fun fact!
That makes so much sense to me. There are days where you’re just so tired from that long day and you need a drink. Espresso martinis can give you that much needed boost. Similarly, if you’re the type of person to order an espresso after dinner, an espresso martini could totally hit the spot too.

Today, we’re making espresso martinis with cold brew coffee. In particular, we’re using Califia’s Concentrated Cold Brew Coffee which is less acidic than the average hot brewed coffee. Made from 100% Arabica coffee, it has 180mg of caffeine per serving. Perfect mixer, if you ask me.
For a more velvety, creamy texture, we’re adding Califia’s Dairy-Free Hazelnut Creamer to this cold brew martini. This creamer is made with no artificial flavors. Just almond milk + coconut cream with a subtle taste of hazelnuts.
It’s the perfect combo of flavors for a Sunday Funday or an after dinner sip. I also added chopped hazelnuts for some crunch action. It’s smooth, creamy, not overly sweet, and balanced enough where you’ll get a fueled buzz. Did I mention this dreamy concoction is dairy-free? ;)
- 2 ounces Califia Concentrated Cold Brew Coffee
- 2 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces coffee liqueur
- 2 ounces Califia Dairy-Free Hazelnut Creamer
- Finely chopped hazelnuts for garnish
- To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add cold brew coffee, vodka, coffee liqueur, and hazelnut creamer. Shake for 30 seconds.
- Pour in martini glasses then top with chopped hazelnuts. Serve and enjoy!
