My version of Starbucks’ guava drink made with unsweetened coconut milk, guava nectar, passionfruit juice, and pineapple juice. It’s a tropical paradise in a cup!
I finally tried the new Starbucks Iced Guava Passionfruit drink and it was a tropical paradise in my mouth!
Think refreshingly sweet, tangy, creamy. So delicious! I decided I had to try to recreate it for the blog and honestly it was pretty damn close.
What is Guava?
In case you’ve never heard of my guava obsession, allow me to introduce you! Guava is a tropical fruit that is oval in shape with a rough light green skin. Their insides are a light pink color and they taste a little sour-sweet. There are several varieties of guava fruits but the most common one taste like a mix between a strawberry and a lemon. You can only imagine how it would taste as nectar/juice… perfectly sweet and delicious!
Now, after doing some research, I noticed that pineapple-ginger syrup was one of the ingredients that Starbucks used for the iced guava drink. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even taste the ginger when I tried it for the first time. So while I did include it in the recipe, I made it optional because it doesn’t really alter the flavor that much in my opinion. I wanted to create something easy-to-follow and straightforward for you so here’s what I did.
How To Make Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink
- Make simple syrup. Ok first things first, if you’ve never made simple syrup, here’s how to do that. You boil a 1:1 ratio of granulated sugar to water. For example, boil 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to 1/4 cup water. Some say you don’t need to boil it but I find that dissolving the sugar is way faster this way. You can also try to mix both up in a jar until dissolved. Either way, no matter what method you use, the key is to dissolve the sugar. Once all the sugar is dissolved, congrats, you just made simple syrup.
- Make the iced guava passionfruit drink! Next, grab a large mason jar or a large pitcher, and add all the ingredients to the jar. Shake it up or stir until all is well combined. Taste and make sure it is sweet enough for you. If not, add more simple syrup as desired.
And that’s all folks! It’s super easy to make and above all, so absolutely delicious, I cannot wait for you to make it!

It is so delicious! Just like the real thing! I didn’t even have to put the simple syrup in there, but I love things less sweet. Amazing job Jamie! 🙂
