Originality, Creativity & Transparency

All recipes on A Sassy Spoon are thoughtfully crafted, inspired by my Cuban heritage, and influenced by the vibrant culture of my hometown, Miami. Every dish is either an original creation or adapted from a traditional recipe with my own creative twist. I never publish AI-generated recipes. When adapting a recipe, I always credit the original source.

Additionally…

  • Sponsored posts and brand partnerships are always disclosed at the top of the post.
  • Affiliate links, which help support the blog at no extra cost to you, are clearly indicated within posts.
  • I only recommend products, tools, and ingredients that I personally use and trust.

Your trust is my priority, and I’ll never promote something I don’t believe in wholeheartedly.

Recipe Development & Testing

I’m committed to sharing recipes you can trust. Every recipe on A Sassy Spoon is meticulously tested to ensure it’s reliable, approachable, and delicious.

My recipe development process is deeply rooted in the way I grew up learning to cook—watching my mom (Mami) work her magic in the kitchen. She rarely measured anything, relying instead on instinct, experience, and love.

I’ve taken those treasured lessons and turned them into precise, easy-to-follow recipes by carefully documenting her methods and testing them myself until they’re perfect for your kitchen.

Cooking is a personal and cultural expression, shaped by traditions, creativity, and the stories of those who came before us. In Cuba, every region and family has its own way of preparing certain dishes.

Over time, recipes evolve, adapting to what’s available and to the unique experiences of each generation. This means that while every version of a dish has its own flair, all are a testament to the creativity and resilience of Cuban cooking.

The recipes I share are a reflection of my family’s traditions, my heritage, and my Miami roots. They celebrate the rich history of Cuban cuisine while embracing the possibility of making these flavors your own.

My hope is that these recipes inspire you to cook with confidence, experiment in the kitchen, and celebrate the beauty of sharing meals with those you love.

Let’s approach cooking—and life—with joy, curiosity, and an open heart.

Commenting Policy

I absolutely LOVE getting comments on my blog—it truly makes my day to hear that you’ve used my recipes for special occasions or that you’ve enjoyed them as much as I do. I do my best to respond to each comment and review them weekly because your feedback means so much to me.

I also welcome constructive feedback if you’ve tried a recipe and it didn’t meet your expectations. If a negative review is shared in a respectful, kind, and helpful way for other readers, it will be approved and replied to.

That said, I do not tolerate comments that are disrespectful, hateful, obnoxious, rude, or irrelevant. I reserve the right to remove or not publish any comments that violate this policy. Let’s keep this a positive and welcoming space for everyone!

Star Ratings

Star ratings are highly encouraged! They’re incredibly helpful for others who want to know how well a recipe works—this goes for all blogs, not just mine.

If you’d like to leave a star rating that’s less than 5, I kindly ask that you include a comment explaining why. Constructive feedback is always appreciated and helps me continue improving the recipes I share with you.

Thank you for being here and for allowing me to share the flavors of my family and culture with you. Together, we’re keeping these traditions alive, one recipe at a time.
