Cafe Con Leche (Cuban Coffee + Milk)

Cafe con Leche (Cuban Coffee with Milk) is a morning beverage made with strong, brewed Cuban espresso, steamed whole milk, and sugar to taste.

Fill your espresso maker with water and ground espresso according to the manufacturer’s directions and brew the espresso.

Make the Cuban espresso

In a saucepan, heat the milk until very hot (close to boiling). Remove it from the heat and transfer it to a coffee mug. Stir in the sugar. Pour in coffee until a light brown color.

Heat up the milk

Add more coffee or sugar if needed. If you wanted to elevate the flavor, you can add a very small pinch of salt to the cafe con leche. Enjoy!
