Crema de Vie (Cuban Eggnog)

The hardest part of this recipe will be chilling the crema de vie in the fridge for 1 hour before serving. Can't wait for you to make it for your friends & family this holiday season!

INGREDIENTS

– granulated sugar – water – cinnamon stick – egg yolks – evaporated milk – sweetened condensed milk – vanilla extract  – white rum

In a pan, heat sugar, water, and the cinnamon stick at medium-high heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Transfer to a large measuring cup. Set aside and save the cinnamon stick.

In a bowl, place your yolks. Set aside. In a pan, heat up the evaporated milk at medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes. Slowly pour the heated milk over the eggs while whisking to combine. Pour slowly to not get scrambled eggs.

Once the milk mixture has cooled, transfer it to a blender then add the simple syrup, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and rum. Blend until all is well combined and frothy.

Transfer to a large bottle or swing-top bottle, add the cinnamon stick, and place in the fridge for 1 hour to chill or overnight. Stir before serving. Enjoy!
