Frituras de Malanga (Malanga Fritters)

Frituras de malanga are the best appetizer or snack for any day of the week. These vegetarian malanga fritters are super easy to make with just 5 ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

– malanga  – egg – fresh parsley – garlic – salt and pepper – vegetable oil for frying

Grate the malanga using a box cutter. You can use a paper towel when grating for better grip. Set aside.

Grate the malanga

In a bowl, beat the egg then add the grated malanga, parsley, garlic, salt, & pepper. Mix until well combined.

Combine the mixture

In a pot, heat 2 cups of oil to 375ºF. Drop 4-5 spoonfuls into the oil. Fry for 2-4 minutes, flipping every minute or so until they are golden brown. Repeat.

Fry the fritters

Drain the fritters on a paper towel-lined plate and season with salt. Serve immediately.
