Carne con Papas (Cuban Beef Stew)

Carne con papas is a classic Cuban beef stew recipe slow-cooked with succulent beef chunks and tender potatoes in a flavorful beef-tomato broth. The epitome of Cuban comfort food!

INGREDIENTS

– oil – beef chuck stew meat – green pepper, russet potatoes – onion, garlic – dry cooking wine, water – beef bouillon – tomato sauce – complete seasoning – spices

Brown the meat about 5 minutes and set aside. Sauté the peppers and onions about 4-5 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

Brown meat + sofrito

Deglaze with wine and cook for 1-2 mins. Add water, beef bouillon, tomato sauce, and spices. Stir and bring to a boil. Add meat reduce to low and cover. Simmer for 1 hour.

Combine ingredients

Once meat is tender, add in potatoes. Cook on LOW for another 30 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve immediately over white rice.
