A deliciously fall-flavored red wine sangria made with pears, apples, sliced oranges and warm spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.

Ingredients
Spiced Pear Simple Syrup

cup
water
1/2
cup
sugar
1
tablespoon
lemon juice
2
pears
cored and chopped
1
cinnamon stick
1/4
teaspoon
ginger
1/4
teaspoon
cardamom
Pinch of nutmeg
Sangria
1
bottle
Spanish red wine
(750 ml)
1/3
cup
triple sec
3/4
cup
spiced pear simple syrup

apples
chopped
1
orange
sliced
Instructions
Spiced Pear Simple Syrup
In a saucepan, add water, sugar, lemon juice, chopped pears, cinnamon stick, ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the pears are tender.
Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain and discard the pears and cinnamon stick. Transfer syrup to a mason jar.
Sangria
In a pitcher, add chopped apples and orange slices. Pour red wine, triple sec, spiced pear simple syrup. Stir to combine.
Chill sangria in the fridge for 2 hours before serving, or serve immediately over ice. Garnish each glass with orange slices and a cinnamon stick.
