For 5 days in Spring 2014, I ate, drank, was sleep deprived but enjoyed the most AMAZING sunsets and views that California had/has to offer. I went to Los Angeles, Venice Beach, drove up the Pacific Coast Highway which was the absolute best road trip I’ve ever taken, stayed in Carmel, drank in Napa, and rode trolleys in San Fran.
Having SO many photos to share, I decided to divide my California trip into 3 parts, starting with this Part 1: Los Angeles + Venice Beach.
Here’s a quick recap of what I did in LA + Venice:
Warner Bros Studio Tour // Total highlight of the tour: Central Perk! It’s sooo small. You wouldn’t think so from the show. Also, the majority of their shows were taped in WB Studios. NYC is all a facade, like it is in our brains when we pretend to be there (is that just me? ok.) I also saw where Ellen tapes her shows. We couldn’t go in though because she was taping two shows (what she does every Thursday). She airs one that day and saves another for Friday. I will be on that show someday. I love her!
Jimmy Kimmel Taping // SO fun. I love late night shows so it was exciting to see how these go down day in and day out. I couldn’t take my phone nor camera inside. That selfie was all the proof I had!
W Hollywood // Fantastic stay. I will always highly recommend Starwood hotels. They’re awesome! This one had a bar (where I had a Moscow Mule, of course) that seemed like a club. We met some crazies there too…oh the stories.
Hollywood Blvd // Full of crazy and hilarity. They say LA is like the Miami of the west coast. That’s not entirely inaccurate. Seeing all the stars down the Walk of Fame though was awesome!
In N Out Burger // Duh, if I wouldn’t have checked this off the list then what kind of foodie would I be!? Total must-do. Even though, I will admit, I’m more of a Shake Shack lover. Sorry, don’t hate me!
Beverly Hills + Melrose // Lots of shops. No parking. Traffic. The first Sprinkles Cupcake ATM however was there! Of course, I HAD to grab a cupcake. Everything in Melrose was so pretty. I felt super underdressed.
Venice Beach // Ah, more crazies and the smell of weed in the air. A broadwalk of fun shops, people watching, and the cool beachy breeze…which I was SO thankful for because LA was beyond hot. Miami heat is humid; LA heat is dry and dehydrating. I drank SO much water.
