Cuban Seasoned Popcorn

Cuban Seasoned Popcorn! Take popcorn to the next level by seasoning it with homemade or store-bought complete seasoning!

A Cuban kitchen is not complete without sazón completa! In English, sazón completa translates to complete seasoning. This blend consists of oregano, cumin, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. While it is used primarily in Cuban cooking, we pretty much add it to everything.

I try not to but sometimes I can’t help it! I’ve added this blend to sandwiches, shrimp, salad, veggies…but today, I added it to popcorn!

You know how some restaurants give you a basket of bread to munch on while you wait? Well, one of my favorite restaurants in Miami, Eating House, gives you a bowl of popcorn seasoned with complete seasoning instead of a bread basket.

Genius!

Ever since I tried popcorn that way years ago, I’ve been hooked. So simple yet so delicious. You can make it too!

To make this Cuban seasoned popcorn snack, all you need is popped popcorn and homemade or store-bought complete seasoning. You can even add lime for an extra boost of flavor. ;)

If you can’t find complete seasoning in your local supermarket, don’t worry. You can make your own complete seasoning at home or buy this one. I’ve also hear about this brand but I’ve personally never tried it. If you have, let me know in the comments below!

Now, go wow your friends with this quick, flavorful!

Cuban Seasoned Popcorn Balls! A simple treat made with popcorn, corn syrup, sugar, and butter then seasoned with homemade Cuban complete seasoning and a twist of lime! Not sure about you but after Sunday’s game, I’ve been ANXIOUSLY waiting to see who’s heading to the Big Game in a few weeks. In the meantime, I’m in total snack mode!

If you’re like me, you love having friends and family over to watch the Big Game with a slew of snacks. From sweet to savory, snacks should always be simple to prepare and enjoy. With that said, I’ve teamed up with Orville Redenbacher® to bring you these Cuban Seasoned Popcorn Balls!

Don’t they look deliciously easy?

They are! All you do is microwave a bag of Orville Redenbacher popcorn, combine the popped popcorn with a hot mixture of corn syrup, sugar, butter and then season with homemade Cuban complete seasoning. Once you form them into balls, you can serve with wooden skewers. It’s that easy!

The mix of seasonings also give these popcorn balls a savory twist which is what makes them so unique. The squeeze of lime is the perfect finishing touch, making these a win for your Big Game or game day watching party!

You can definitely buy Complete Seasoning in any grocery store but I prefer to make my own. If you’d like to make your own complete seasoning, you combine oregano, cumin, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. For the full recipe, click here.

Forget the teams, I promise these Cuban Seasoned Popcorn Balls will be the real MVPs at your game day watching party!

Homemade Cuban Complete Seasoning

Homemade Cuban Complete Seasoning

Give some Cuban flare to your meats, poultry, and veggies with this Homemade Cuban Complete Seasoning made with garlic, onion, oregano, salt, pepper, parsley, and cumin!

Ah, sazon completa. The seasoning of my people.

Basically, this seasoning is what I’ve been eating since birth. Complete seasoning (aka sazon completa) has been a staple in my parent’s house since birth. No meal is ever complete without this blend.

Complete seasoning consists of oregano, cumin, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. A shortcut, if you will, that makes dishes taste magically delicious!

What have I made with complete seasoning? Well, I’ve added this blend to sandwiches, shrimp, salads, veggies…pretty much everything.

Here are some other recipes made I’ve made with complete seasoning:

Sadly, many of the brands that I grew up with add MSG to their blend which probably explains why we always had Cuban coffee after dinner. Talk about Zzzzz.

If you’re sensitive to MSG, can’t find this in your hometown, or simply want to make it at home, this recipe is a great option for you! It’s pretty close to the real thing! Check it out.
